Our Facility
Tiara is very excited to announce that as of November 2020, we have relocated to a very special facility. We have sadly said goodbye to Aberlake Farm, our home of 8 years, and taken over once of the most impressive facilities in the province, and a significant and long term contributor to the sport of eventing. We are excited by the opportunity to keep this special facility at the forefront of equestrian sport in Ontario and will be running horse shows clinics and our regular programming.
Our new facility boasts 100 acres of competition facilities, including a regulation sized dressage ring, a 20x40 dressage ring, a huge show jumping ring complete with banks, and a sizeable cross country course with ditches, banks and water. Our indoor facilities include almost 50 stalls, two indoor arenas (including one regulation sized), heated tack rooms with lockers for almost 70 horses, and excellent turnout with brand new shelters and frost free drinking posts. We also have a meeting room and party room, and overnight accommodations available for clients and friends. We have recently set up our facility to do quarantine from Europe.

Head coach - Meagan Maloney
Meagan's background is diverse; ranging from hunters, to pony club to breaking racehorses and galloping them at Woodbine. However, cross country hooked her and as a teenager her primary goal became making the Young Riders team competing at NAYRC. In 2005, the dream was within sight on a rather unlikely match; a 15.2 thoroughbred mare, a total failure at the track, accident prone, and sassy to boot. Kiss My Tiara, the horse for which the business is named, turned out to be all heart. Just before NAYRC, the pair took an unfortunate spill at an event, that resulted in catastrophic injuries for Meagan, and a plan to retire from the horse industry. Meagan's experiences were chronicled in "Practical Horseman" Magazine's Eventing issue of 2007.
Two years later, and against much scrutiny, Meagan returned to the horse industry with a fresh outlook and an understanding of the need for a truly safe horse and rider. Meagan has since worked as Head Instructor of Mullingar Equestrian Centre, in Co-Westmeath, Ireland where she ran a 70 horse yard with students from all over Europe and competed in show jumping representing Canada on a Mini Prix Team at the AIRC competiton. She was also a key coach and training at both Sunnybrook and Riding Academy at the Horse Palace for many years, before becoming Director of Operations. Meagan easily acquired her competition coach status, and was awarded 2013 Ontario Equestrian Federation Coach of the Year Award. She specializes in building a students confidence while instilling correct basics to optimize safety. Her students results speak for themselves, as they are rarely out of the ribbons.
In addition to producing young horses and students successfully in the eventing world, Meagan has pursued becoming an FEI rider in an additional sport and competes mostly in Dressage in recent years. Having competed several horses at the FEI small tour level, Meagan was proud to qualify for and compete for Canada in Florida at Adequan Global Dressage festival on Knabstrupper gelding, CCS Theoden, one of only a handful of Knabstruppers to grace the CDI rings worldwide. Meagan is a USDF Silver Medalist, and is eager to produce some of her talented string of self made horses and homebreds up to the Grand Prix level in the near future. Her current competition horses include Lyric PT (owned by herself and Leah Zommers), Pyxis Av Drommarna (owned by Kristi Stillwagon), Toftegaardens Codex (owned by herself and Tracy Hendricks) and CCS Theoden (owned by herself). Meagan is thrilled to be introducing the talented Knabstrupper breed, to Canada and Ontario and is eager to have her own homebreds in the show ring soon.

Coach - Krystin Anderson
Krystin Anderson has more than 20 years of riding experience and grew up exposed to a wealth of knowledge; she learned about breeding and breaking at a very young age. A former Pony Clubber, Krystin acquired her Riding "A". Her experience with young horses has made her an excellent trainer for all disciplines, and she starts the majority of Tiaras young horses.
Krystin has worked at the track galloping racehorses, is currently producing hunters for amateurs and has ample experience competing both on the line and in cup classes. As a competitor, Krystin has top level aspirations, and has already successfully produced a 4 year old she broke as a teenager, all the way to the Intermediate level, with countless wins along the way. Before being sidelined due to an injury, Summer or Rather Breezy, was a very competitive name on the OHTA circuit winning several events and the 2011 Canadian Sport Horse of the Year award. Krystin has produced many horses to the training level, and is currently developing Sandy Zelmers Copy Cat Creek, a young thoroughbred stallion up the levels, as well as her homebred; Amsterdam, Rather Breezy's first foal. Copy Cat Creek enjoyed a successful upgrade to Preliminary level in 2021 and has a huge future ahead of him. In early 2022 Krystin relocated to Durham area and has taken on more training at Tiara, while still offering her services in the Adjala and York regions on a part-time basis. |
